városok.

Liberation.  Heightened senses.  Snippets of beauty here and gone.  Melding and originality.  Cities in their conglomeration of peoples, cultures, smells, and architectures provide stimulus for sensory overload.  Bliss.  In all the difference I find solace and freedom.  I take and leave what I will.  Liberation from conformity.  From type-casting.  Liberty to be as I am intrinsically.  I, like these cities, can live genuinely.  My blend of beliefs, feelings, and preferences in acceptable juxtaposition.

Stitches and Stripes

I love hand-stitching. Ever since that first pillow I find myself thinking of different sewing projects that would involve hand-stitched designs.  This is official project #2.  Minkee is my new favorite fabric, it is SO soft. Though I have to add my caution: it is extremely un-friendly to work with.  I can't resist it though.

sew sweet.

Update of the newest venture. Sewing.  I made this pillow for my mom's family room.  I saw a design kind of like it on a website but the pillow was priced at $80... So, I decided to make my own.  I thoroughly enjoyed my project and decided to try my hand at a quilt next. So, that's my new work in progress.

Detail of the center, lots of sewing, I didn't have a sewing machine at the time so needless to say it all had to be stitched by hand.

Here it is, in my mom's family room.  The children have been told not to drool on it.....we'll see.

bikes bikes and more bikes

Kevin came up with quite possibly the best and coolest idea of all times (if it wasn't made from a wheel, it would it top it!).  It is now a picture frame on our wall.

Michelle's Photo Shoot

My wiffer is so cute.  This all started out as me trying to take one picture of her with earrings on, but I got a little carried away and couldn't resist taking more.

self-portrait work, revisited.

So, I FINALLY finished another piece for my self-portrait project.  With the help of the insight of one of my professors, I've decided to take it in a new direction; earrings...a multitude of them.  Earring wearing is a quirk of mine, even if I haven't showered and don't have make-up on, I will be wearing earrings.  Like some people and shoes, I have countless earrings. (okay, maybe not countless, but more than I'd want to count)
It's me, each pair in itself is a small statement about myself, what I like, how I'm feeling, etc....
More to come.
